WHEN, at the tender age of 70, Mrs. Kathy Skelton felt it was time to learn to swim properly, she also decided to raise money for the Harriet Davis Trust at the same time.
Kathy, of Kilgetty, trained two or three times a week at the local Martin James Health Club, both in the gym and in swimming pool.
On Monday, she undertook a two-and-a-half-hour workout in the gym, on the treadmill and rowing machine, and followed this with threequarters-of-an-hour of swimming.
As a result of her efforts, she has raised the magnificent sum of £300 for the Harriet Davis Trust (which provides seaside holidays for disabled children), by getting friends and family to sponsor her.
Kathy wants to say a special thank you to two friends, Mrs. Anne Kendal and Mrs. Ruth Watson, for their patience with regards to the swimming section.
