Tenby’s 578th Mayor, Clr. Chris Jones, was installed with due ceremony.

The first ever Cheese and Wine Party held in Narberth attracted over 300 people to the Queen’s Hall. The event was so successful that proceeds amounted to over £300. It was organised by the Narberth Joint Guides and Scout Group committee in aid of the fund to build a new headquarters adjacent to the Town Moor.

Pembrokeshire YFC Rally Queen was Mrs. Ellen Evans, Clynderwen. Her four attendants were Miss Kitty Thomas, Clynderwen, Miss Valmai Williams, Haverfordwest, Miss Joan Hanley, Pembroke Grammar, Miss Priscila Hughes, South Pembrokeshire.

Clynderwen YFC were winners of the Pembrokeshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs Rally for the sixth time in seven years.

The White Hart, Tenby, won the Joe Fecci Challenge Shield as champions of Tenby and District Darts League. Team members were John Richards, Wyndham Cooper, Malcolm Williams, John Badham, Aubrey James, Toni, Billy Roberts.

Approximately £270 was contributed in Tenby during Christian Aid Week. The result was well down on the previous year when £329 was realised.
