Police throughout South Wales were making inquiries about the theft of a speedboat and outboard motor from Tenby harbour.

Over 1,000 cars from all parts of the county converged on the Thomas Chapel race track, Begelly, to see the Tenby Round Table charity jalopy race.

Clynderwen’s Carnival Queen was Miss Wendy Jones, with attendants Hedd Davies, Helen Davies, Cynthia Davies, Betty Williams, Yvonne Davies and Michael Watts.

Tenby’s St. Margaret’s Fair was formally opened by the town’s town crier, Mr. David Thomas, and a civic procession. The official Mayoral party was led by the Pipe Band of the 445 (Lowland) LAD Regiment.

Templeton’s first parish sports for some years was an outstanding success. There were many entries in all events and competition was very keen. A cup, given by Clr. W. Davies, was won by Gillian Price, Camphill, who had the most successes.
