Nine children from The Glebe, Tenby, spent their winter evenings with one of the mums (Arleen Westmacott), making crafts and learning songs for a charity show they put on for family and friends on December 20.

Despite a cold, foggy evening, it was a huge success, with an excellent turnout of people who came along and were able to watch the show, enjoy mince pies and mulled wine, buy crafts made by the children and take part in a raffle, followed by a lantern parade and carol singing, which everyone was asked to join in.

A sum of £270 was made on the night, but further donations, including £50 from Tenby Infants School and a further £50 from the Fourcroft Hotel, when some of the children went carol singing on Christmas Eve, helped to raise the money to a grand total of £430.

Special thanks to Miguel at the Giltar Hotel for use of some of their equipment. Also to Mrs. E. Beddis for all her donations and help and Mrs. Elen Sandu, who helped out on the night and also supplied all the wine for the mulled wine on the night.

Arleen would like to say thanks to anyone who helped or contributed on the night, but a special thanks must go to the children who took part.

Pictured here are six of the children who were invited to look round the ward and present the cheque. They are, from left: Adam Rees, Kristian Westmacott, Rachael Rees, Becca Lully, Madison and Sydney Vickery and at the back, Arleen Westmacott and Jacqui Broadhurst who accepted the cheque for Withybush. Unable to attend the presentation were Harry Goforth and Chelsea and Nathan Newell, who also played a very big part in making the money for this event.
