Events in Tenby over the festive period have been praised by local councillors.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown said she enjoyed the ‘brilliant’ coverage of the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Tudor Square that appeared in the Observer, which highlighted the high volume of people that enjoyed the fireworks display put on by Tenby House Hotel.
“We’d all very much like to tank Leslie and the family at Tenby House for another great event - they always put on such a good show - and without it, it wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve!” remarked Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter.
Clr. Trevor Hallett also gave appreciation to the ‘wonderful clean up’ job that Pembrokeshire County Council did the morning after, congratulating the authority for making sure that everything was in order.
Clr. Laurence Blackhall said that the Boxing Day Swim event held on the North Beach was equally as impressive, with the event now in its 49th year, attracting hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators.
“I know the organisers the Tenby Sea Swimming Association have big plans for their 50th swim - but they are also keen on attracting new people to the organisation, as the ones doing it, have been involved for a very long time,” he added.
