THE family of local well-known personality Jack Davies, who passed away on March 16, aged 88 years, recently donated three works of art to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery in his memory.

The pictures included two works by Doreen Hammersley, including a portrait of Jack, and one 19th century watercolour of the North Beach and harbour by an unknown artist.

Jack had been a trustee at Tenby Museum for a number of years, taking on the role of honorary secretary and had also undertaken voluntary work at the museum where his knowledge of local people and photography was put to excellent use. His active involvement in many areas of museum work made him a valuable asset to the day to day running of the museum.

The three pictures were handed over to museum assistant, Thelma Mort by David Davies (son), Joy Piper (daughter), Thomas Davies (grandson), Stephanie Davies (granddaughter) and Julie Sutcliffe (Jack's long-term partner). Also present was Joy's partner, Fiona Richards.
