Sir,
I have just spent a happy few days in Tenby, but spending a penny there is a bit fraught, lacking privacy!
It is a pity the council cannot fit bolts on some of the loo doors in the large toilet block by the harbour. Surely it can't cost too much to replace broken bolts. The block also needs a wash and brush up as it's a bit grubby and smelly too. Some toilets were not working. Does no one inspect them regularly?
Money for that could be saved by not sending out the street cleaning vehicle every day along Greenhill Road for example, accompanied by a man on foot with a hand held blower and sucker. Surely a clean every few days or week would suffice, rather than daily.
Otherwise my friends and I thought the resort has a lot of charm and good beaches. Thanks also to the Mayor who showed us around his 'parlour' and council chamber and told us a lot about the town. He is a man worthy of the job and a good ambassador for Tenby.
I was a visiting journalist and Tenby will be recommended to others - apart from its loos.
Geoff Perfitt,
Penn.
