WHITLAND Carnival Day - Saturday, August 1 - is almost here, so get ready for an afternoon and evening packed with fun, entertainment and community spirit.

Carnival Day Timeline: 2.30pm – Carnival Queen Crowning at Parc Dr Owen; 3pm – Carnival Procession departs from Parc Llwyn Tŷ Gwyn; 3:30pm onwards – Live entertainment from Phil Hughes and Forsaken Duo.

Entry to the par is £5 for adults, but free to anyone in fancy dress, and free to under 16s.

There will be prizes for the best carnival floats, plus children’s fancy dress prizes.

Food vendors, funfair rides and a variety of stalls will be on site throughout the day, so there’s something for everyone.

“Don’t forget to bring a chair or picnic blanket and make a day of it,” say the organisers.
