A new book from a Tenby based author chronicles the many aspects of one woman’s amazing life through the years.
Kathy Farmer has published six books to date, and now announces her return into the publishing scene with the release of ‘Fragments’ (published by AuthorHouse UK), a book that tells the story of Kathy from being a World War II child evacuee with her twin brother, her first job after leaving school and her first fascinating boyfriends.
Kathy celebrated her 90th birthday this month, and she used this milestone birthday to publish her seventh book.
The book relates how her parents forced decisions upon her, which she regretted at the time. It explains how she came to meet John — her first husband, and their long marriage of 48 years until his death. She also speaks about her exciting experiences as a singer and actress on the amateur stage in the Midlands.
In her mid-years, Farmer became drawn to the Christian faith, and how she became a Reader in the Anglican Church, where for many years, she preached and ministered in the country churches along Offa’s Dyke. Her story allows readers to appreciate how keen a horsewoman she was and how she was steeped in country lore.
Finally, Farmer tells how it is possible to live once again after facing the traumatic loss of her first husband.
“Most people enjoy reading about the lives of other people. This book demonstrates how the way people lead their lives has changed over the years,” she said.
When asked what she wants readers to take away from the book, Kathy answers: “An inspiration for others to write their life stories as well.”
Kathy lived for many years on the borders of the Welsh Marches, when as an active countrywoman she would regularly ride her Arab mare over the hills of Offa’s Dyke. She now resides with her husband in the beautiful seaside town of Tenby.
She is also an artist, and when she is not writing, she loves to paint in all mediums, and is a member of the Tenby Arts Club.
The book is available in soft cover and e-book form from Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
