The Kilgetty Friendship Club met recently to enjoy the very first trip out for the group. The destination was a visit to see the Last Invasion tapestry on display in Fishguard town hall. A short but very entertaining talk on the historical aspects of the event itself and an explanation of the bi-centinery celebrations and the work involved in making the tapestry was given by Mr. Edward Perkins. His obvious enthusiasm for the subject impressed us all.
Lunch at Somethings Cooking at Letterston was enjoyed by everyone and was followed by a ride over the Presseli Mountains where we had the chance to stretch our legs and admire the spectacular views.
All agreed it was a very successful first trip.
The Friendship Club meets every other Thursday at 2.30 pm and welcomes new members.
The next meeting is on Thursday, July 18, at Kilgetty Community Hall when a talk by Pembrokeshire’s trading standards team will be given on avoiding frauds and scams, followed by the usual cup of tea and chat. It promises to be interesting and informative.
Why not come along and meet some new friends.
