Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism would like to welcome one and all to the marquee on Saundersfoot Harbour for the fifth annual St. David's Day Food and Craft Market. This year's event will be extra special as it will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2, which will actually be St. David's Day and Mothering Sunday, respectively. The event will take place between 10 am and 6 pm on both days, with the world-renowned Cawl Cooking Championship of the World and Elsewhere being held this year between 12 noon and 3 pm on Saturday only. Stiff competition is expected for Sue and Paul, of Silver Strand Tea Rooms, the previous champions, who have proved difficult to beat for the past three years. Welsh culture will be in abundance in all areas, from food and craft stalls to flowers, music and competitions. The children of Saundersfoot School will play a large part in this, with a Welsh themed poster and model competition and a national dress contest. Prize winners will be announced after the cawl trail. In recognition of the work mothers do throughout the year, there will be no stressful cookery competition this year. Instead, they will be treated to a variety of cookery demonstrations on Mothering Sunday. Come taste the cawl and enjoy the Welsh experience this March in Saundersfoot.
