Opticians Pritchard Cowburn are eyeing up the competition with an extra pair of peepers joining the team.
Emma Humfrey, from Bridell, and a former pupil at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi, is the newest member of the optometric team since she joined the practice last year. She has recently attained her full qualifaction in optometry.
Local girl Emma, daughter of the Dyfed Riding School, has been enticed back to West Wales from Cardiff, where she gained her BSc (hons) in optometry at Cardiff University.
Emma said: "Being part of the Pritchard Cowburn team is rewarding, and the work brings different challenges throughout the day from working with a variety of age ranges.
"My colleagues are always on hand for advice and I appreciate all the support given by them since I joined the practice."
With the addition of the Pembroke Dock practice bringing the number of practices to three, Pritchard Cowburn can now offer more testing than ever. Pembroke Dock joins the Narberth practice and the original branch in Cardigan.
Company principal, Lyndon Pritchard, said: "We were very impressed with Emma's attitude and ability with patients and are happy to welcome her on board. We feel it is important to offer opportunities to people from the area to develop as it is both beneficial to us as a company, and to our customers to employ local staff."
