Former Tenby resident, Mrs. Elsie Breadnam, celebrated her 105th birthday on November 2 in Stubbington, Hampshire, where for the past three years she has lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Glyn Macken.

Elsie came to Tenby more than 60 years ago and before moving to Hampshire she lived in Park Lane Apartments, Greenhill Road.

She had a long career with T. P. Hughes, where she worked in several departments. She was a member of the congregation and the Mothers’ Union of St. Mary’s Church. She served on several local committees.

On her birthday, Elsie received a card from the Queen, a telegram from the Secretary of State, and cards from her many friends in Tenby.

Many of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed her birthday party, which included special birthday cakes baked by two of her great-grandchildren.

Elsie is in good health and enjoying life in Hampshire.

She keeps in touch with news from Tenby through the Tenby Observer, which she looks forward to reading each week.
