The Valero Secondary School Music Festival brought unprecedented success for Elizabeth Morgan, of Tenby, who after less than three months at secondary school, won the county’s top school musical award.
A pupil at Greenhill School, Elizabeth started her performances by winning the Open Piano award, which qualified her to play in the evening concert. Following the evening concert, after much deliberation, the adjudicators decided that she should also be awarded the Best Overall Musician award for 2018. She performed Schubert’s Impromptu Op 90 No. 2.
In 2015, Elizabeth was the youngest ever winner of the Valero Primary School Festival for her piano performance. She was also judged as best overall musician that year.
Elizabeth has been taught piano since age five by Jan Hartzell, a Royal?College of Music graduate who lives locally.
