We are grateful to the parents for supporting us on these days by sending pupils in their old clothes!

Pupils from Year 6 recently travelled to Greenhill School for the first of their transition days. They came back with smiling faces and a bright outlook for their future education.

Thank you to the staff at Greenhill for making them so welcome and for the great activities they were able to take part in.

For the first time in recent history pupils from Stepaside took part in the Welsh learners Jamboree organised by the Urdd staff.

Travelling to the Pavilion on the showground the pupils joined several other local schools where they participated in welsh language songs. It was a high octane activity enjoyed by staff and pupils.

Members of the school council organised a Spring Disco for all pupils.

Dancing, games and hot dogs were enjoyed by all and the school council raised £262 which they decided to give to the Year 1 and 2 pupils to spend on playground games.

Friends of the school held a pancake tea at the school in February. The hall was filled with lovely smells as parents, friends and pupils enjoyed and pancake before home time. Thanks to the friends for their efforts. They raised £75 for the friends of school.

Adding to the friends fundraising are the regular donations from the emptying of the clothing bank situated in the school car park.

St David’s day celebrations went ahead on March 2 with pupils attending the WI coffee morning in Summerhill.

Singing a range of Welsh songs and with Arlo Jones playing his cornet, the crowd enjoyed the show.

The Eisteddfod group also performed their recitation to get some practice ready for the eisteddfod later in the month. Back at school that day all pupils performed welsh items for a large gathering of parents and friends and the winners of the Art, Handwriting and Map work awards were announced.

We are celebrating the success of our Urdd netball team as they have made it through to the finals in Aberystwyth later this year. Well done girls. We want to take this opportunity to thank Taf Valley coaches for their support on all of the above mentioned outings. Their service is always first class with immaculate vehicles and polite and helpful drivers.

We are very grateful as always for the support of the local businesses in and around Kilgetty. We are holding our second rainbow run in early April and an Easter bingo hosted by the Friends on March 30.

Our friends in local business have as ever supported us with many great prizes. We look forward to letting you know how these events go in the coming weeks
