The February meeting of East Williamston Community Council was held in the Community Hall on Thursday, February 1. Tree planting in the Jubilee Park and Nature Trail is now complete, thanks to a small nucleus of volunteers; an official opening is expected to take place in the spring. The contract for the maintenance of the area is now being advertised. Details of the required work can be obtained from the clerk to the council (tel. 01834 814774). It is understood that the mains sewerage was approved by the board of Welsh Water and work is expected to commence in March, taking approximately 16 weeks. Planning applications for consideration were received as follows: Extension at Hill Rise, Pentlepoir; Dwelling, adjacent the Old Farm House, East Williamston. Planning applications granted by Pembrokeshire County Council: Extension, Meadow Bank, East Williamston; Chimney stack, adjacent 'White House', Kingsmoor; Dormer windows, 'Brierly', Pentlepoir; Dwelling, adjacent East House, East Williamston County Council are to be apprised of the deteriorating condition of the road through Pentlepoir and a further request is to be made for them to review the speed limit on the road from Broadmoor to East Williamston. The next full meeting of council will take place on Thursday, March 1, at 7.30 pm in East Williamston Community Hall.
