On the evening of Friday, May 27, Tenby Museum and Art Gallery is hosting an evening based around the life and work of Dylan Thomas.
For As Long As Forever Is has been written and compiled by the museum’s collections manager, Mark Lewis. The event will be arranged and directed by Teifion Powell, who will also be reading various extracts. The other readers are: Harry Gardiner, John Harry, Sharon Thompson and Jane King, with Andrew Davies providing the voice of the narrator.
Mark explained: “The piece has been divided into three sections of Dylan’s life - his early years and first poems, life with Caitlin and his time in America. It takes into account his attitudes to poetry, his film scripts and short stories as well as his social and family life. I have dedicated the script to artist John Uzzell Edwards, who sadly died in 2014 and who was a great friend both of the museum and myself. We would often share conversations of our love of Dylan’s work and he frequently and proudly regaled me with tales about how he acquired Dylan Thomas’s gate!”
If you are interested in acquiring a ticket for the evening, spaces are limited, so please contact the museum on (01834) 842809 to avoid disappointment. The event starts at 7 pm and will last for approximately one-and-a-half hours. Tickets are £5 (£4 for Friends of the Museum).
