Pictured is 13-year-old Year 9 Greenhill student Harry Owen from Begelly who has just completed his most successful gym season to date. Regular readers of the Tenby Observer will remember several features on Harry over the years, achieving age group success at Welsh, British and international level. However, earlier this season he was selected for his first full men's international at the Northern European Championships in Norway and won a gold and silver medal at the Celtic Cup International in Belfast. He also represented Wales under 16, a nine country international in Portugal and finished the season with the Wales under 18 team at the UK School Games in Coventry (where he won a team silver and an individual bronze) on the parallel bars. Two one-hour specials about this year's UK games will be screened on Channel 4 this Sunday and the following Sunday, September 23, at 8 am. Harry continues to travel 600 miles a week to his training in Swansea and is well on course to cement his place in the Wales Commonwealth Games team for 2010.
