Sir,
It was with disbelief that I read the article entitled 'Street Confusion' in last week's publication of the Observer. I have been employed in Tenby as a postman for 18 years, and for the last 10 years have delivered mail to addresses in Church Park and Trafalgar Road.
To suggest that the Royal Mail requested the newly-erected sign to be placed at the end of Church Park because of problems they were having with mail delivery in the area, and the confusion caused to postmen beggars belief, and I find the statement as somewhat insulting.
Being both born and residing in Trafalgar Road I am hardly in a position to be confused over the issue of where either Church Park or Trafalgar Road are, and I look forward to hearing the real reason as to why the sign was erected in the first place.
Incidentally, the sign has been in place for some time, and is not being introduced as your article stated.
Mr. R. N. Griffiths,
3 Traflagar Road,
Tenby.
