A £180,000 dinghy park was opened in Tenby on Friday in time for a major sailing event in the resort at the weekend.
The Pembrokeshire town hosted a leg of the prestigious Laser Sailing Dinghy World and European qualification races which boasted a world-class field.
Around 130 sailing boats plus competitors, race officials, support staff and families visited Tenby for the sailing in Carmarthen Bay.
The dinghy park is the latest development at Tenby harbour and has been built with the help of £80,000 from the Welsh Development Agency.
Pembrokeshire County Council has already invested £300,000 in core capital funding for harbour improvements.
Further work is to be carried out later this year in and around the North Beach promenade.
The dinghy park was opened by the chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clr. Mickey Folland in his first official engagement.
As reported elsewhere in this issue, Clr. Folland, appropriately the member for Tenby South, had only hours earlier been elected the eighth chairman of the county council.
