CONGRATULATIONS to Eric and Maisie Davies, of Kilgetty, who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary yesterday (Thursday).

The couple, who live at 12 Kilvelgy Park, were surprised on the day by local photographer Gareth Davies, who dropped by their house to take their picture and they duly provided him with a photo of the actual day for a ‘Now and Then’ comparison.

Eighty-six-year-old Eric, hails from Swansea orginally, while his wife Maisie (85) is a London girl from the district of Mitcham.

The couple met in Pembrokeshire, having been moved there like many children, following their evacuation from major cities for their protection during the onslaught of World War II.

However, these days, they very much consider themselves as locals!
