Sir, At this time of year, I know there are many in the community who give their time willingly to help others on a voluntary basis, but I felt it an important gesture to write a letter of praise and thanks to two particular individuals. They are Kay Davis and Tara Rees, who volunteered and set-up the 1st. St. Issell's Rainbows group. They have also been helped this year by a couple of teenagers, I believe associated with the Prince's Trust, who are great with the girls. My five-year-old, like her friends who attend, really enjoys her time there every Thrusday evening for an hour after school; they have such a varied range of activities with many providing a great sense of achievement and fun. They are often involved in fund-raising activities for local and national charities. The leaders, aka Star and Sparkle (helped when possible by Sunny) devote much of their free time willingly to the group and never seem short of interesting and creative ideas to keep the girls amused. They have been exceptionally busy in the last few weeks with organising the Rainbows float for the Narberth Carnival and the girls' Christmas Show, which was successfully enjoyed by family members last Thursday night. I can't start to imagine the organisation and input that is required of them and I'm sure their family members who support them, enabling them to create such a worthwhile group for our children to attend. So thanks for all your hard work, commitment and enthusiasm on behalf of many of us parents. Wishing all involved another successful year in 2006!
