Sir,
While endorsing ‘Ironman distress’, I could not agree more that the whole organisation needs replanning.
At the moment, vulnerable residents along the route have their nursing and care workers denied access, despite official ‘Ironman passes’.
These workers are doing lifesaving duties, as are WVS ‘Meals on Wheels’, and yet have to walk miles in some areas to access their clients.
Ironman could have the decency to honour its ‘passes’ or organise cover for these ‘lifesaving’ workers who cover isolated areas, not just high elderly demographics, but all ages who require essential medical cover in the community.
R. Jenkins,
