Last Sunday, the church held its Harvest Festival, the guest speaker being the Baptist Missionary Society secretary for Wales, Mrs. Delyth Davies. Mrs. Jean Grimes welcomed friends on entering the church, which contained a small collection of fruit, vegetables and flowers to remind us of God's bounty at harvest time.

Mrs. Helen Hills introduced the service and led the prayer time, the congregation heartily joining in singing the suitable Harvest hymns chosen by the music group.

Delyth, by means of a video and with visual accompaniments, brought everyone up to date as regards the needs in various countries of the world.

She chose a Bible reading from the Old Testament book of Micah to illustrate that today's situations were not that different from those several centuries ago, but there is in the Christian meaning of Hope, the fact that God has control of the future.

On Tuesday evening, the church family enjoyed a Harvest meal together. The Thursday morning parent toddlers group will meet as usual next week.
