There was a record turnout at the De Valence, Tenby, on Wednesday, February 18, for their open day.

Questionnaires completed, volunteers signing-up and so much positive feedback for all the new community classes taking place in March.

There were even queues for those signing up for the evening classes!

Belly dancing starts Monday, March 2, acting classes for adults start Tuesday, March 3, while ballroom, Latin and salsa dance classes start Wednesday, March 11, all at 7.30-9 pm.

The afternoon groups for the over 50s were also very popular with creative movement and wellbeing sessions starting on Tuesday, March 3, from 1.30-3 pm and the Friendship club starting Wednesday, March 11, from 2-4 pm.

The Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions presented the De Valence Pavilion with a cheque for £250 to support this new community programme of events. They have also received a fantastic £5,000 of sponsorship from NPower.

"We are extremely grateful for the support from our local Tenby and Saundersfoot Lions and from NPower," said Victoria Smathers, the new director at the De Valence,

"This sponsorship means we can really develop the programme of community activities at the De Valence.

"With difficult financial times facing many local people and businesses there is even more of a need to provide local community activities and arts events to keep that community together.

"With all the feedback from the people of Tenby at the Open Day, we will be developing the fuller community programme after Easter from all their suggestions."

To book for any of the classes, please call the De Valence Box Office on (01834) 843568, or just turn up on the night.
