Sir, The Pembrokeshire Dawn Walk was resurrected this year by Macmillan Cancer Support and some of the dedicated members of the original Dawn Walk committee. I would like to thank everyone who offered their help and support to ensure that this walk could once again be held in some of the most beautiful countryside of Pembrokeshire. I was delighted to be part of this event for the first time. Thanks to everyone who took part (72 walkers), the walk has so far raised in excess of £5,000 already. Macmillan Cancer Support is currently funding three new projects in the Pembrokeshire area in 2008 and thanks to local donations we were able to help 56 local cancer patients and their families through our Macmillan Grants scheme in 2007. We are now planning 2009 so that we can continue to provide new and innovative cancer services. We would welcome some input and advice from everyone who was there on the day and also from anyone who thinks they would like to join us in making 2009 even bigger and better.
