AFTER reading about 11-year-old Daniel Burrows and his brave fight against cancer in last week's Observer, kind-hearted staff of local nigh club, The Night Owl, have arranged a special fund-raising night to help send him on a dream holiday.
Parents Danny and Cheryl and other members of the family have a couple of ideas in mind to raise funds to help send the plucky youngster on a dream holiday to Give Kids a World in Florida when he finishes his treatment.
When they read this, the Night Owl staff immediately started planning their own event to help boost the coffers and came up with 'Daniel's Disco', a fun-filled family night which will be staged from 7 to 10 pm next Wednesday (July 24).
Entry fee will be £3, which will go directly to the fund, as will the £1 charge for the hot dogs which will be available on the night.
All the Night Owl staff, including the DJ, bar staff and doormen, will be donating their wages for the evening to the appeal, while there will be plenty of spontaneous fun and games throughout the evening, including some of the door and bar staff taking part in a sponsored head shave and leg wax!
A raffle will also be held, with prizes generously donated by local businesses.
"All the businesses we have contacted have all been very positive in donating prizes and we thank them all for that," said a spokesman for the nightclub.
"The evening will be open to families and it promises to be a good, fun night in aid of a very worthy cause."
