A MAN from the Rhondda Fach Valley has been sentenced for assaulting two people and driving while over the limit for alcohol at an award-winning, landscaped caravan park between Narberth and Kilgetty.

Jordan Green, of Hillcrest View, Maerdy, Ferndale appeared before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 1.

The 32-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting two individuals on August 15, one male, one female, at Croft Country Park, Reynalton by beating them.

The personal statements of both victims were read by Sian Vaughan, Counsel for the Crown Prosecution Service. The court ordered Green to pay compensation of £50 and £100.

On the same day, August 15, at Croft Country Park, he was guilty of driving a silver Peugeot while over the limit for alcohol. A test revealed 94 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath - a very high concentration that indicates severe alcohol intoxication.

The drink-driving offence carries an obligatory disqualification, and Green has been banned from driving for 40 months. He was also fined £369, his guilty plea being taken into consideration.

Taking into account all three offences, Green was also made subject to a community order, lasting 12 months and supervised by Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court. The order him to comply with any instructions of the responsible officer to attend appointments (with the responsible officer or someone else nominated by them), or to participate in any activity as required by the responsible officer up to a maximum of 10 days.

Costs to Crown Prosecution Service amounted to £85, and a surcharge of £114 was added, to fund victim support services.

The total in fines, compensation, costs and surcharge came to £718. A collection order was initiated, with £50 instalments to be made every month, starting on September 29.

The community order ends on August 31.
