A PEMBROKE motorist has been banned for 12 months for drug-driving a moped.

Ieuan Roberts, of Twopenny Hay Close, appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 18, pleaded guilty to driving a Symphony 125 on The Green, Pembroke, on April 17 with 7.4ug/L of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his blood.

The reading was over three and a half times the legal limit of 2ug/L set under UK road traffic law. This concentration indicates recent cannabis use or active presence in the bloodstream.

In addition to being disqualified for 12 months, Roberts was fined £80, his guilty plea being taken into account. Costs were £85, plus a surcharge of £32. An application was made for benefit deductions.
