A Pembroke man will stand trial after being accused of raping a woman in Tenby.

Forty-eight-year-old Dean Gough of Orielton, is accused of intentionally penetrating the vagina of a woman with his penis, when she did not consent; and he did not reasonably believe that she was consenting.

The incident is alleged to have occurred at The Mews complex on Upper Frog Street on December 7, 2022.

Gough appeared at Haverfordwest Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 15 where he denied the allegation.

The matter was sent to Swansea Crown Court for trial. The defendant was released on unconditional bail.

The next hearing will take place at Crown Court on May 15 - with a plea and trial preparation hearing scheduled.
