A woman has appeared in Court charged with the murder of a seven-year-old boy in Haverfordwest last week.

42-year-old Papaipit Linse spoke via a video link today (January 16) for a preliminary hearing at Swansea Crown Court that lasted only a few minutes, with the defendant speaking only to confirm her name and address.

The defence solicitor asked for the case to be adjourned, citing concerns over whether Linse was fit to enter a plea or stand trial; a request that was granted by Judge Paul Thomas KC, who ordered for a psychiatric report to be prepared.

Police launched a murder probe after being called to an address in Upper Market Street at 10.45 am on Wednesday, January 10.

The defendant was arrested at the scene, and later charged with murder.

She has been remanded in custody at Eastwood Park Prison until a further hearing scheduled for Swansea Crown Court on February 27, when a plea and trial preparation hearing will take place.
