Carew continued to set the pace at the top of the Ocky White Pembrokeshire County Cricket League on Saturday with a convincing seven-wicket win over Narberth.
Batting first, Narberth could only muster 79 all out, with David Johns grabbing almost half the total with a controlled 32 and Jason Oatley also making it to double figures with 10.
Doing most of the damage for Carew were Rob Scourfield and Aled Davies who took 4 for 8 and 3 for 11, respectively, while Darren Thomas grabbed the three remaining wickets.
The target was never really going to trouble the big-hitting Carew side, with Nick Scourfield's unbeaten 41, which included nine fours, easing them to 80 for 3 and victory.
Wayne Howlls and Greg Morris were the Narberth wicket-takers.
Although Dave Lovell was again in top form for Lamphey with 110 not out, the reigning champions could only manage a draw against Folly Farm Kilgetty.
While others in the Lamphey order collapsed around him, skipper Lovell kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely with 14 fours and two sixes to help take the homesters to 175 fo 6 at the break, aided by 14 from Hywel Gibbs and 16 from Greg England.
All-rounder Simon Wood was again the form player for Kilgetty, taking 3 for 23 and then stroking off a half-century when Kilgetty took to the crease.
Paul Mansbridge chipped in with 29, Phil Jones 14 and Wayne Royall and Barry Wood 18 not out and 13 not out, respectively, to ease Kilgetty to 140 for 6 and force a draw.
Lovell claimed 3 for 39, Gibbs 2 for 22 and Tim Haggar 1 for 31.
Karl Rhead's first top flight century was not enough to save Haverfordwest from defeat at the hands of Lawrenny.
Rhead smashed four sixes and 10 fours to pouch 102 before being caught by Chris Vincent off the bowling of John Fuller as the Town pushed on to 181 for 8 at tea.
Andrew Phillips (14) and Phil Sutton (20) were the other Town batsmen to make it into double figures.
Adrian Harries (44) and Vincent (21) got Lawrenny off to a solid start in reply, with Simon Cole putting on a further 42, Steve Lewis 33 and Ian Jenkins 10 not out to take the villagers to a four-wicket victory on 182 for 6.
Burton continue to find the going tough in the top division, losing their basment battle with Pembroke by seven wickets.
Opening, Burton struggled to 30 for five before skipper Richard Hayman (20) and William Scriven (28) steadied the ship in the middle order.
James Scale put on 12, Gareth Virgo 10 and Mark Griffiths 18 as Burton limped to 122 in the face of accurate bowling from Spencer Harries (2 for 26), Gwyn Griffiths (2 for 19), Nigel Phillips (2 for 21), Kevin Jenkins (3 for 20) and Chris Thomas (2 for 17).
Matthew Mitchell picked up 14 runs and Paul White 10, but Harries amd Gareth Scourfield did the business for Pembroke, with Harries bagging nine fours in his unbeaten 46 and Scourfield carrying his bat for 41, which included eight fours and a six, to ease them to 124 for 3 in just 23 overs.
Another huge batting display by Cresselly was not enough, with newly-promoted Whitland defiantly holding on for a draw.
The Cresselly batting attack kept the scoreboard operator busy, with Richard Harris pouching 69 runs, Damian Arthur 59, Lyn Richards 27 and Julian Arthur 16, to set Whitland a target of 229 for 7.
Top wicket-taker for Whitland was Mike Phillips with 5 for 42
Whitland suffered a setback early on when skipper Paul Webb found himself back in the pavilion without getting off the mark, but Paul Davies (19) and Rob Jones (22) steadied the ship.
Mark Lee added 10, Colin John a tight 36, which included seven fours, and Matthew Davies an unbeaten 21, to hold out for the draw on 160 for 8.
Pick of the Cresselly bowlers was Lyn Richards, whose 12 over spell included six maidens and three wickets for just 25 runs.
James Caine took two wickets, although for a more costly 54 runs, while Phil James also picked up 2 for 33.
