Last Friday saw the curtain come down on the season with the finals knockout taking place at the RFC.
First off saw the 1001 between the Taf and the RAOB A and the boys from the Buffs pushed the Whitland side all the way, but the Taf emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.
The Jolly Challenge semi-finals then took place seeing the RFC Otters beating the RAOB B by 3-2, and Lawrenny seeing off the Stanley B by 3-1. The final saw it go all the way, and it was the boys from out of town who took the match by 3-2.
The Captains saw Chris Jenkins (Taf) retain the title after a 3-1 win over Steve Poole (Angel Narb A), while the Vice-Captains saw Clive Jones (RFC) start his evening well with a 3-1 win over Richard Morris (Ivy Bush).
The Landlords saw Adam Kelly regain the title after beating last year's winner Rob Cottle (Ivy Bush) by a clear 3-0 win. The Ladies saw the pairing of Sarina Edwards (Angel Narb A) and Cheryl Jolly (Stanley A), and it was Sarina who pulled off a good win in a fine match by 3-1 take the honours.
The Doubles semi-finals saw wins for Stuart Hughes and Paul Farr (Parcy A) over Chris Jenkins and Gavin Smith (Taf) and Steve Poole and Gavin James (Angel Narb A) over Neil and Cheryl Jolly (Stanley A), with the final going all the way with a tight 3-2 win for the boys from the Parcylan.
The Singles brought up a few shock exits. First off saw Mark Wood (Angel Narb A) beating Kim Llewellyn (Taf), followed by David Rees (Bush Rob) enjoying a good win against the in-form Ray Spencer (Taf).
Next up saw a close win for Bob Fursse (Lawrenny) over Richard Lewis (Alpha), while up last saw Clive Jones again on form to beat Gavin Smith (Taf).
The semi-finals saw David get through to the final after defeating Mark, while Clive took the match against Bob. The final couldn't have been closer with Clive going into a 2-0 lead, but somehow David dug deep to pull off a remarkable comeback to take the match 3-2 ending a great night of darts.
Achievement on the night came from Bob Fursse 21 darts, Ray Spencer 180, Jeff Jones (RAOB B) 180 and Stuart Prosser (Lawrenny) 180.
Many thanks to Richard Morris for setting the boards up, Wyn Phillips for running the draw, the staff of the RFC and Sarina for selling the raffles.
It was decided beforehand by the committee that the money raised on the raffle would be donated to Billy and Bev Harries whose daughter Shelly is undergoing serious cancer treatment at the moment. A total of £115 was made (thanks to all who put their hands in their pocket).
NB: This Monday, the monthly meeting will be held at the Angel, Narberth, where the important issue will be the annual dinner, where names and payments should be handed in on the night (meeting starts at 8 pm).
