Dewi McGhee has recently received the Cooks Company Prize in memory of Cherry Grainger 2011 in London after all his hard work and dedication while studying at PRP Choices Project and PRP Training's Catering Academy,
Dewi first started on the Choices Project when he was 14-years-old, when he studied for his entry level 2 in food studies. He then progressed to the PRP Catering Academy when he was 16, achieving NVQ level 1 in food preparation and cooking, hospitality and multi-skilled services, along with food safety level 2, health and safety in the workplace level 2, a BIIAB level 1 award in customer and drinks service and a BIIAB essentials of catering award.
Dewi was also a finalist in the Caterer, Licensee and Hotelier Student Chef of the Year in 2010.
His catering tutor from the age of 14 to 19 has been Jamie Bessant, who said this was a nice award for Dewi to pick up after all the hard work and commitment he has put in from a young age.
"Hopefully, Dewi will go on to achieve his full potential in the future," he added.
