The Three Tenors concert at St. Johns Church, Tenby, tomorrow (Saturday) evening looks as if it is going to be a sell-out. Some 'return' tickets are being collated to go on sale during the coffee morning being held in the Schoolroom at the rear of St. Johns from 10.30 am to 12.30, and there may be some left over for the evening at the door. These will be priced exactly the same as tickets already sold (£7).
Welsh cakes will be freshly made and on sale during the morning from 10.30 to noon, and this will happen at the front door of St. Johns, weather permitting.
As well as the Three (Welsh) Tenors, artists taking part will be Mr. Jim Walker (violinist), accompanied by Rebecca Whitehurst, Dr. John Harrison (organist and MD of St. Mary's Church) and Tenby Male Choir.
Compére for the evening will be Mr. Newman Vincent, of Saundersfoot, who will open proceedings at 8 pm.
The doors to the church will be opened at 7.15 pm to allow plenty of time for everyone to find a seat, but seats are not numbered, so choice of seating will go to the earliest arrivals. There is room in the gallery of the church for those that like a 'bird's eye view', though these seats are limited in number.
As this is a rather special concert, it is hoped that it will prove to be a great attraction to local people, as well as visitors to the area. The organiser, Mr. John Hurlow, is hoping for much success for this 'one- off' event. Any queries about arrangements etc. can be addressed to John on 01834 842339.
