The supporters arranging the purchase of Crymych Arms as a community owned pub are arranging the second public meeting to be held Monday evening, February 6.

Everyone is welcomed to the meeting at 7pm in the Crymych Market Hall.

An update on pledges received to date will be given as well as an outline of the business plan and share offer documents for commencing the collection of community shares.

West Wales community development charity PLANED has been supporting the community to collect share purchase pledges over the past six weeks.

Cris Tomos of PLANED said: “There has been great interest in this community enterprise with a total of £91,600 of pledges received within six weeks. The full details of the share offer and pledging phase of the initiative are explained on www.cpdcrymych.cymru .”

Cris added: "We are at the stage of setting up a community benefit society to issue the share offer and start collecting the shares that are £100. People have asked what they will receive for their community investment and during the meeting on February 6 we will explain that a 3 per cent annual dividend is incorporated into the business plan as well as seeking Social Investment Tax Relief status with HMRC to offer a one off 30 per cent tax relief to UK taxpayers.”

A new community pub purchase committee has now been formed to oversee the fundraising. Anyone who can offer a few hours to volunteer with the community purchase is welcome.
