The guest speaker, who holds a First Class Honours degree in History from Swansea University, was welcomed to the meeting by president Patrick Jones.
Glyn started in the 15th century, with Thomas White, Mayor of Tenby five times, who helped the future first Tudor King, Henry VII, to escape to France. Henry, who was born in Pembroke Castle, later returned to the Country and succeeded in taking the Crown from Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

Sir William Paxton, of Paxton Tower fame, was a very wealthy business man and pioneered Tenby and its harbour as a seaside resort. He was born in 1744.
Less known is Peggy Davies who introduced the popular bathing machines onto the South Beach.
Margaret Jenkins in 1928 became the 526th Mayor of Tenby and sat on the Council for 25 years. Her daughter was the First lady member of Pembrokeshire County Council.
Nina Catherine Stokes (1873 – 1963) nursed and taught on the first line during the first World war with the British Expeditionary force.
Frank B Mason - editor of the Tenby Observer and a controversial journalist - was barred from attending Council meetings but eventually the Press Bill said journalists must be admitted.
Brother and sister, Augustus and Gwen John became world known artists and were known too for their extravert behaviour. Both attended the Slade College of Art in London. Gwen at one time became the mistress of Rodin the famous sculptor and it is claimed that Augustus had over 100 mistresses!
Chris Stevens gave a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Glyn for an interesting talk which was enjoyed by all the members.
