CWM Arian is hosting a free day-retreat at Pengelli Forest, near Eglwyswrw, under its Preseli Woodlands Project. The event will offer those navigating perimenopause and menopause a dedicated space to pause, reconnect with nature, and find support among others sharing similar experiences.
‘Among the Trees’ takes place on Friday, September 4, from 10am to 2.30pm. Set in the quiet surroundings of North Pembrokeshire's ancient woodland, the session offers a welcoming environment to step away from daily demands and focus on emotional wellbeing.
Symptoms such as exhaustion, sleep disruption, anxiety, and brain fog often leave women feeling unlike themselves. Arriving when many are balancing careers, family life, and caring responsibilities, the transition can profoundly impact confidence, relationships, and identity.
Led by psychotherapist Heather Sanderson, the retreat provides time for quiet reflection, woodland walks, and an optional, gently facilitated sharing circle. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss what better local support might look like across Pembrokeshire, with no pressure to share more than feels comfortable.
Time spent in nature is widely recognised for its health benefits—helping to lower stress levels, lift mood, and restore a sense of calm. The session aims to break down the isolation that frequently accompanies perimenopause and menopause by fostering open, peer-to-peer connection in a tranquil setting.
This event is free but advance booking is required. Email [email protected] to reserve a place.
