There has been a serious collision on the A40 and the road is closed between Canaston Bridge and Penblewin, in Pembrokeshire this morning (August 19).

A spokesperson for Pembrokeshire County Council stated: “The road is likely to be closed for several hours. Avoid Robeston Wathen.”

Please use the official diversion as follows:

To travel east, use Canaston Bridge to Cross Hands, Templeton, Kilgetty, then A477 towards St Clears.

Travelling west, use the above in reverse to access Haverfordwest.

Please allow extra time for your journey.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: ”Robeston Wathen to Redstone Cross - the road is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic collision.

“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”
