A LOCAL holiday cottage agency has announced a £50,000 investment to charities and community projects across the county via its Coastal Community Fund, with an April 30 deadline for the first round of funding.
Established in 1982, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire is a family-run holiday cottage agency based in Haverfordwest with a portfolio of approximately 400 properties. Guests who book via the local agency, made up of 25 staff from across the county, have the option to donate £3 per booking towards their Coastal Community Fund which then provides support and funding to local charities and projects across Pembrokeshire.
Charities and community projects across Pembrokeshire are invited to apply for funding which is available in two tiers; Small Grants of up to £500 and Major Grants of up to £5000. Funding will be made available twice per year, with a deadline of April 30, 2026 for the first round of funding this year. Organisations must deliver clear, positive impact for local communities; examples include: village hall improvements, local heritage or cultural projects, accessibility improvements, conservation projects and more.
Matthew Evans, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire CEO, said:
“We’ve always believed that tourism should give something back to the place it depends on and our guests have been so generous with their donations. Without our owners and our guests choosing us our local agency, this fund wouldn’t exist, so we want to send a heartfelt thank you to them for supporting our community and loving Pembrokeshire as much as we do.”
Applications for the Coastal Cottages Community Fund are now open.
