Fancy dress fundraisers were among those that took part in the Colby Park Run this month - with some spooky and spectacular outfits on display!
The regular runs take place around the Colby Woodland Gardens on the Pembrokeshire coast, in conjunction with parkruns that take place every weekend across the country.
Saturday, October 11 saw perfect running conditions in the woods – dry underfoot and the recent storm damage a distant memory thanks to Colby’s sterling tree-clearing efforts!
The run organisers shared on social media - “Great to see a 189 runners on the start-line, including visitors from as far afield as Macclesfield, Stratford-upon-Avon and Caerphilly.
“A warm welcome to our seven first-time Parkrunners – we hope you loved our beautiful course! A huge shoutout to Louise Scarr, who celebrated her 200th parkrun. And, there were some spooky goings on with a large group of skeletons, dinosaurs, pumpkins, and ghosts who were running to raising awareness and funds for the Air Ambulance Trust, in support of their friend Jess after her stroke.
“Well done to the two juniors coming home in the top 10 and to the incredible 31 people who got a PBs – congratualtions! As always, a massive thank you to our brilliant volunteers.”

One runner taking part, also saw the funny side sharing: “Great being lapped by an elephant, the fancy dressers really brought a smile to my face!”
