Claims that Tenby United coach Gary Price had thrown in the towel following the Seasiders 75-15 Principality Cup defeat at Chepstow on Saturday were firmly scotched yesterday (Thursday).

Tenby chairman, Mr. Derek Lloyd, told the Observer that, contrary to claims made in the press, Price was staying with Tenby and formed a major part in their plans to rebuild for the future.

There was also further good news from Mr. Lloyd who revealed that former Tenby wing Jonathan Dodd was returning to the club in a player/coach capacity alongside Price.

"There is a very positive attitude in the club despite Saturday's setback," said Mr. Lloyd. "Gary is delighted that Jonathan is coming back to coach the backs as he is someone he has wanted to work with for a while.

"The club have had financial problems, but these have now been sorted out and we are re-building," Mr. Lloyd continued.

"Gary is in discussion with several players, including some former Tenby players, with a view to them joining the club and things are looking up.

"We have the coaches and, with one of the best youth sides in the county, we have a lot of good players coming through and we are aiming to consolidate our position this season.

"It takes time to rebuild and people can't expect sudden success. The platform is there and the financial package is there. Those people who want to see Tenby United succeed and to see good rugby have got to stick with us because the results will come."
