The classic 'car showing' season has started once again and this Sunday it will be the turn of Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club's Annual Show to be held at Scolton Manor, near Haverfordwest.
This is a great day out for all the family, with auto-jumble, craft stalls, or pick up a bargain at the car boot stalls. There will be entertainment for the youngsters and refreshments to keep the hunger pangs at bay, while mum and dad can reminisce over the vehicles they had and should have kept.
Not only will visitors to the show see restored cars highly polished to an excellent standard, but also an array of motor-bikes, commercial vehicles, tractors, static engines and other vehicles of interest.
Many memories will be exchanged between show-goers and vehicle owners, some from the older generation, but a lot of enthusiasts are youngsters who are increasingly attracted to vehicles which are often cheaper to insure and can also be tax exempt. More women are also starting to recognise classic cars as style icons.
The show will be officially opened by Chevron's public affairs adviser, Mr. Phil Thompson, who the club wishes to thank for both his and Chevron's support this year and in the past.
The club would also like to wish Mr. Thompson all the best in his retirement.
The gates to the show open at 12 noon and admission will be adults £4, children £2 and concessions £2.
Every year, a substantial amount of the show takings is given to local charities, so all support is greatly appreciated.
Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club's nominated charities for 2009 will be Leukaemia Research, Arthritis Care and Diabetes, and are all locally based.
So, go along for an entertaining day out, support Pembrokeshire Classic Car Club and their charities; it will be very rewarding to 'all of them', who have put in so much hard work for 'all of you'.
If you have a vehicle which you think may be of interest to the show, or require any other information regarding the show or the club, please contact Mr. Jeff Harris, club secretary, on 07875438703. Or visit the club's website: http://www.pembsclassiccarclub.co.uk">www.pembsclassiccarclub.co.uk with information regarding the club and the various outings and trips they arrange.
Look forward to seeing you on June 7 at 'The Manor'.
