Heather Philbin, receptionist at the Clarence Hotel, Tenby, has worked hard to raise awareness and funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Last year, she raised £600 by organising weekly raffles at the hotel and at a recent presentation evening, she was thanked by volunteers of the service in Pembrokeshire.

Volunteer Jan Allison-Jones gave a short address about the life-saving work carried out by the pilot and paramedics and stressed the need to raise funds this year, as new generation helicopters are urgently needed.

Last week, the charity launched its '£1 Appeal' to ensure that everyone is aware that just £1 given by each person in Wales would bring in three-million pounds to help with this project.

Jan thanked Heather for choosing Wales Air Ambulance to benefit from her initiatives and Heather confirmed that she intends raising more funds this year.

In fact, a further £160 has been raised recently and was also presented. Thanks were given to Mr. and Mrs. Loz Phillips, of the Clarence Hotel, for their support.
