Under the most challenging conditions weatherwise, the annual Llawhaden and district ploughing match took place at Brechfa Farm, Llanycefn, near Clynderwen, by kind invitation of Mrs. Gillian Davies, president.
Twenty-four brave ploughmen participated, but surprisingly, despite slippery surface conditions in the barley stubble, some excellent results were achieved.
Overall winner was semi-digger craftsman, Rhodri George, ahead of vintage ploughman, Bryn Harries, competing in the classic class.
