PENALLY Yarn Bombers’ Christmas display brought seasonal joy to the village near Tenby, as these pictures from Elizabeth Fitzpatrick show.

The installation was completed by December 12, and although only a few group members were able to attend, everyone had worked very hard to accomplish an impressive array of yarn creations, using various techniques.

Focussed on the bus stop and the Village Hall, where the Yarn Bombers had provided lots of robins, Christmas trees and a winter scene to add cheer, the festive decorations received much praise from villagers and locals.

The crafters had created the Welsh greeting ‘Nadolig Llawen’ (Merry Christmas) all in yarn to greet those who passed by the historic pump at the bottom of Strawberry Lane.

Penally can be very proud of its industrious Yarn Bombers, helping to make the village pretty, vibrant and topical.

In the past year, they have made patriotic displays for St David’s Day, taken part in the church flower festival and constructed a meaningful ‘purple poppies’ tribute for Remembrance commemorations.
