Saundersfoot is getting ready for a great Welsh-themed get-together for all the family in the friendly Pembrokeshire village on Saturday, February 29.
Not only will the Cawl by the Sea event celebrate St David’s Day and the country’s national dish, but it will also raise a cheer for the village’s community spirit and its many local businesses.
Everyone is welcome to join in the famous annual Cawl Trail around village eating establishments which takes place between 12 noon and 2.30 pm.
Just buy your keepsake Cawl bowl any time from 11 am (get to The Regency Hall promptly, they were sold out in less than an hour last year!) and that’s lunch sorted! Don’t forget to cast your vote for the tastiest dish.
Some very special guests will be joining in too. It’s a well kept secret at the moment, but let’s just say we hope they’re not too tired from a certain major rugby tournament at the moment!
Throughout the day a Village Showcase in the Regency Hall will highlight some of the local clubs, organisations and events which make Saundersfoot such a great place to live and visit. There will also be Welsh afternoon teas, live music and the ever-popular Dragon Trail.
Participating venues in the village are as follows: The Boathouse; The Captain’s Table; Marina; Beachside Barbecue; The Harbwr Bar and Kitchen; The Stone Crab.
Pembrokeshire based business FBM Holidays is sponsoring the event and Pure West Radio is supporting the Trail too.
