A former student at Tenby's Greenhill School is taking part in an exciting art project on the fourth plinth in London's Trafalgar Square called One and Other by sculptor Anthony Gormley.  

Catherine Stephens-Ward is one of the 2,400 participants to have been chosen to stand on the plinth, for one hour. Together the participants will be standing on the plinth 24 hours a day for 100 days. The project runs until October 14.

Catherine, who is 25 and lives in Cardiff, will be appearing in Week 4, on Monday, July 27, at 9 pm.  

She said: "I am thrilled to have been chosen to take part in this unique and ground-breaking project, and I cannot wait! 

"I have been informed that I am the 14th person to have been chosen to represent Wales.

"Each geographical region of the UK will be proportionately represented, and so the idea is that the participants provide a snapshot of modern day Britain." 

Catherine (pictured) continued: "I am aware that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and therefore I intend to use my hour on the plinth to its fullest potential.

"How I spend my hour is my choice, and as the plinth will be a fantastic vantage point, I have decided to sit and write about what I see and hear. I cannot predict what my finished written piece will be like, I will have to let culture and people dictate that.

"I have been giving a lot of thought to what I will wear; since I will be on public show, it's important that I choose well! In this vein, I have approached UK fashion designers, in hope that they will lend me something to wear."
