A number of successful events have been staged in Narberth Castle over the last few months, all organised by Span Arts, who are based in the town. These have proved successful with both local people and visitors to the area. Along with some volunteers, the town's county councillor, Wynne Evans, undertook a clean-up of the castle in advance of the events. "I am grateful to those young people who assisted in the clean-up," he said this week. "There still seems to be somewhat of a problem with dog fouling, but in no way is it as bad as in previous months; also the local police do regular checks on the castle, which gives great reassurance to the immediate local residents. "A number of groups of artists have been extremely complimentary about the site and intend to hold more sessions next year," he added.
