Carew Wesley Methodist Youth Club has been a little quiet over the past couple of weeks, what with the nice weather and light summer evenings (writes Joe Hicks). So it was wonderful this week to see so many join us for our American theme evening - even though the numbers took the leaders a little by surprise! Luckily nothing fazes our youth club leaders and we were able to cope.

It was brilliant to see that so many youngsters made an effort to dress in red, white and blue, or as a character - we had cheerleaders, gangsters, pink ladies and American footballers, to name but a few.

Georgia and Janet kindly put together a quiz to start the evening off. It was such a nice evening, we were able to have the parachute outside and after the members had exhausted Mark and John, we served up hot dogs in the sun.

To finish off, we had fresh fruit, marshmallows and waffles, all drizzled in chocolate. Thanks to Ollie and Joel for 'manning' the chocolate fountain - it was a big hit! Thanks also to everyone who helped out and to all the members who came along.

The club finishes for the summer holidays, Friday, July 17, when we will be holding our family sponsored walk followed by a barbecue. Please can as many members as possible come along and support this night to help raise funds for the club.

Footnote: Please note the Millennium Stadium trip will now be on September 19 - spaces are limited, so please return your forms as soon as possible if you are interested in coming along.
